Tis' The Season

This year has been a whirlwind of releases and international book signings, but as we close out the year, I just wanted to take a minute to reflect on all the wonderful memories of these past twelve months.
One of the biggest highlights? Finally meeting my PA and dear friend in person after years of chaos, planning, and late-night voice notes together. There’s something surreal about hugging someone you’ve worked with so closely—someone who has held your schedule together with nothing but determination, spreadsheets, and sheer willpower—and realising they’re even more wonderful in the real world. (Terrifying for my deadlines. Delightful for my heart.)

I also survived my first international signing, which still doesn’t feel real. Standing in a room full of readers from across the world—people who travelled, queued, and came to share their love for these worlds and characters—was one of the most magical, grounding, and utterly overwhelming moments of my career. I will never forget it. Not the nerves, not the warmth, not the way my hands shook when I saw the queue.

And of course, through every high and wobble, I’ve been battling the familiar imposter-syndrome demons. Thankfully, Cora’s sarcasm has been yelling at them from the sidelines (“If I can outrun Death and bad decisions, you can hit ‘send,’ Adaline.”), while Daphne is accidentally stabbing them with glitter-coated determination and tripping over her own sword in the process. My fictional disasters have become my emotional support chaos crew, and honestly? I wouldn’t survive publishing without them.

Thank you for being here—for reading, for cheering, for sending messages that make even the toughest writing days feel worthwhile. You are the reason these worlds exist, grow, and find their way into the hands of new readers every year.

From our Winters’ family to yours, we are wishing you a very
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year this 2025 season.
May you read many, many books and keep all of your 2026 resolutions.
Well, at least the important ones.
